Kung Fu - Nan Quan Print E-mail
Nan Quan (Nan Chuan) or translated "southern fist" generally represents styles founded in southern parts of China.
 
There are more interpretations of this term. Some experts sees Nan Quan as individual style, but some also use this term as group of more styles. Today Nan Quan term is also used to specify one of three major parts of modern Wu Shu.

It's believed that traditional Nan Quan was developed in period of Ming dynasty (1368-1644g).

Popular representatives of southern styles are:

  • Cai Jia Quan
  • Liu Jia Quan
  • Li Jia Quan
  • Mo Jia Quan
  • Cai Li Fa Quan (Choy Lay Fut)
  • Hu He Shuang Xing Quan (Tiger and Crane)
  • Hakka Quan
  • Baimei Quan (White eyebrow)
  • Yong Chun Quan (Wing Chun)...
