Tai Ji - 42 form

Introduction

Tai chi 42 form, also known as competition form, is one of modern Tai chi forms. It was created in 1989 by the Chinese Sports Committee to achieve further popularisation of Tai chi and also to improve Tai chi competitions.

Standardization of movements, time limit and sufficient form difficulty make 42 form almost ideal form for the Tai chi competitions but also for them who just entering into the world of Tai chi.

Characteristics

42 form is composed from elements of four major Tai Chi styles: Chen, Yang, Sun and Wu. Most elements are although taken from Yang style and others styles are represented with only few movements.
